Northern District of California
DRC supported plaintiffs’ counsel in a major privacy class action that resulted in a $425.7 million jury verdict on behalf of nearly 100 million mobile device users. The case centered on allegations that a large technology company collected users’ location and device data without consent, constituting invasion of privacy, intrusion upon seclusion, and violations of state computer‑access statutes. After hearing extensive technical and behavioral data evidence, the jury found the defendant liable for invasion of privacy and intrusion upon seclusion, delivering one of the largest privacy‑related verdicts in history. DRC provided the following trial consulting services: jury focus group research, jury selection, and trial strategy consulting.
