Renato Stabile is an attorney and President at DRC. Prior to joining the firm, Renato worked for 17 years at Gerald B. Lefcourt, P.C., a four-person litigation firm, headed by Gerald B. Lefcourt, Esq., one of the preeminent trial attorneys in the United States. Notable and high-profile representations prior to joining DRC included: United States v. Irving Lorenzo, et al. (EDNY) (the “Murder, Inc. case”); People v. Kerry Kennedy, (S.Ct. Westchester County); Home Depot v. G&S (EDNY); Best Cellars v. GrapeFinds of Dupont, Inc. (SDNY); and United States v. Jenny Hou, et al., (SDNY) (campaign treasurer to former NYC Comptroller John Liu). Renato has also successfully authored briefs and argued appeals in both federal and state court.
At DRC, Renato oversees a team of lawyers, analysts, and graphic designers to construct focus group presentations that effectively test clients’ trial themes, demonstrative concepts, and key evidence, against what they are likely to face from the other side at trial. An experienced advocate, Renato presents cases to mock juries, under DRC’s “single-presenter” model and facilitates post-deliberation discussion among mock jurors. Renato guides DRC’s analysis of focus group deliberations and develops evidence-based recommendations and demonstrative aids to overcome observed trouble areas. Before and during trial, Renato often works on-site with clients, preparing key witnesses, refining trial themes and demonstratives, and drafting closing arguments.
A native New Yorker, Renato is a 1993 graduate of the State University of New York at Binghamton (B.S. Biology) and the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law (J.D. 1997). He is admitted to practice law in New York, Connecticut, the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States. Renato is a member of the SDNY’s Criminal Justice Act panel.
