DRC congratulates Josh Dubin, Esq. and Gerald Shargel, Esq. for today's Fourth Department reversal of the 2015 murder conviction of Dr. Robert Neulander, who was serving 20 years to life for the murder of his wife.

The reversal was based on juror misconduct uncovered post-verdict by Dubin and Shargel, involving text messages between a juror and her father, including a text message in which the juror's father wrote, "Make sure he's guilty!" Dubin and Shargel did not try the case, but were hired following the guilty verdict to handle post-verdict proceedings and investigations, including the issue that led to today's reversal. Alexandra Shapiro, Esq. argued Neulander's appeal in the Fourth Department. DRC congratulates Alexandra Shapiro and Shapiro Arato LLP for their sensational work on the appeal.
